We also have recording studio available FREE for those young people that are musically inclined.
Any young person that uses the studio, either as an individual or as a band will walk away with a demo CD.
If you require any further details or wish to make a booking please contact Graeme at the Centre.

Band Nights
Drug and Alcohol free band nights are run at the centre once a term for young people up to the age of 18. Any local bands who wish to take part can contact the youth centre. Keep an eye on our Activities & Events page for upcoming nights.

Menai Youth Action Committe
Shire Wide is committed to helping young people realise their potential. A key part of this is giving young people the space and encouragement to share their thoughts and ideas, both on issues affecting young folks and their wider community.  One way we do this is through the Menai Youth Action Committee (MYAC) which is a group for young people who have ideas for Menai and surrounding areas.
The committee has 2 meetings one for young people aged 9 to 13 years and one for young people aged 14 to 18 years.  Each committee will have their set projects as well as projects which they will work on together.
The MYAC’s focus is to provide young people with the opportunity to be actively involved in their local community whilst using the skills they have.
As a committee member you will get the chance to:
·         Participate in the planning of youth related projects
·         Conduct  youth and community events
·         Have a say on issues you and your peers see as important to young people
·         Work on your leadership and communication skills
·         Build your confidence in public speaking
·         Make new friends
·         Work as a team member
·         Develop new skills

Are you aged between 9 and 18 years?
Do you live in the Menai and surrounding areas?
And would you like to have a say on youth issues and be involved in events and activities?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above then MYAC may be something for you

For MYAC members interested in pursuing appointment on the Sutherland Shire’s Council’s Youth Committee and/or the NSW Government’s Youth Advisory Committee, this is a great opportunity to gain relevant skills and experience..
