For youth workers based at the Menai Project call 9543 6440 Monday to Friday 9am-5pm or drop in between 2.30-5.30pm on Thursday, 3.00-6.00pm Friday or catch up with staff at the Menai SK8 Park on Wednesday 3.30-4.30pm where they hold a BBQ. (Call the Centre for details). Menai Project carries a huge range of resources and information and can provide support and referral as well as individual casework.
School Holidays
Here at Menai we have some great school holiday programs, with activities both at the centre and outings to places such as Jamberoo and Laser Zone.
Recording Studio
We also have recording studio available FREE for those young people that are musically inclined. Any young person that uses the studio, either as an individual or as a band will walk away with a demo CD. If you require any further details or wish to make a booking please contact Rus at the Centre.
RSA/RCG Courses
The centre also runs RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and RCG (Responsible Conduct of Gambling) workshops on a regular basis for young people over the age of 18. Contact the youth centre for information on when the next course is being run.
Band Nights
Drug and Alcohol free band nights are run at the centre once a term for young people up to the age of 18. Any local bands who wish to take part can contact the youth centre. Keep an eye on our Activities & Events page for upcoming nights. |
Menai Youth Action Committee
The Menai Youth Action Committee (MYAC) meets every 2nd Monday from 4 - 5pm with afternoon tea provided. MYAC is open to young people between the ages of 12 – 18 who are linked to the Menai area. The aim of MYAC is to represent the views of this section of our community and to provide a forum to discuss and act on issues of importance to young people. Committee members also participate in planning activities and events for young people. More information can be found here.
