Mentoring Project

The INSPIRE (Innovative, Non-judge-mental Support Program Intended to Re-Engage)  program will target young people involved in the juvenile Justice system. This program will provide one on one support and guidance to assist young people in making meaningful, law-aiding decisions about their future.

Shire Wide will match volunteer mentors to each young person in the program. Having intense contact with positive adult role models who can support and encourage the young person will significantly improve their chances of staying on the right path.

The young person will be encouraged to engage with education, employment and to participate in community organisations.

The mentors will complete a training program with Shire Wide Youth Services and then work with young people on a weekly basis for 12 months.  Shire Wide will also provide support for the mentors through training updates and ongoing supervision.
